In late 2011, the Regional Disability Respite Reference Network agreed to change its name. It will now be known as the Respite South Network. The new name acknowledges that the Respite South website is the online interface of the disability respite service provider network in the southern region.
The Respite South Network recognises and values the diversity of its membership.
The Respite South Network provides a forum for service providers who offer respite support to people with a disability and their carers. Services interested in respite outcomes are also welcome to join.
The Respite South Network offers opportunities to share information, work in partnership, explore respite service issues and to network with peers.
Network meetings are held bi-monthly.
The Respite South Network also has several working groups which meet regularly. These include the Respite for Older Carers Service Provider Network as well as the Disability Respite and Recreation Expo working group, which is involved in the planning of two expos each year.
