Description:

Alpha Outbound provides its Members with an opportunity to participate in a range of social activities and short breaks whilst being assisted by experienced support workers. These events occur once and sometimes twice a month on either a Saturday or Sunday, and there may also be some weekend evening events (Friday or Saturday night). In addition, Alpha Outbound also runs two x 2 day camps/short breaks per year.

Alpha Outbound is a club where Members join and receive a Calendar of Events from which to choose activities they wish to participate in. Members (and their families) have the opportunity to suggest activities and build new relationships thereby fostering a sense of belonging and interest in the club.

Generally, activities will be undertaken in small groups of approximately six. The staffing ratio will be no more than 1:3 participants for each activity.

Eligibility:

People can become Members if they are:
• Funded by the Southern Region of the Department of Human Services.
• An adult (over 18 years of age) and living at home with parents or a carer.
• Diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Cost:

Costs will vary according to the activity being undertaken. Costs for each activity will be stated on the Calendar of Events sent to Members and/or their families/carer.

Depending on the activity, transport may be provided either to pick up and/or drop off at the Member’s home.

Membership is free and open to adults who meet the Alpha Outbound criteria. As a Member you will receive the Calendar of Events and Newsletters.
