Respite aims to support individuals with a disability and their family, parents and cares through the provision of short-term and time-limited breaks on a regular, occasional and/or emergency basis by providing the individual with a disability with positive and meaningful experiences.
Disability Services, the Department of Human Services, Southern Metropolitan Region invites interested organisations to submit expressions of interest for a new facility based respite service which will be located in the City of Frankston. The facility will be purpose built with 5 bed capacity plus sleepover.
The new facility will cater for young people aged between 16 - 25 years who have complex behavioural support needs. Individuals targeted for this service must be eligible under the Disability Act 2006 and reside with their primary caregivers.

The closing date for submission proposals is Thursday 8 March 2012 by 2.00pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.
