About Us

Respite South is part of the Respite Victoria network of disability respite websites, set up by the Department of Human Services (DHS) to improve access to information about local respite options for carers and people with a disability across Victoria.

Respite South is where people can access information about DHS funded providers who offer respite services in the South Division.

The South Division has four service delivery areas, two of which are covered by Respite South:

  • Bayside Peninsula: includes the local governments of: Bayside, Frankston, Glen Eira, Kingston, Mornington Peninsula, Port Phillip, and Stonnington.
  • Southern Melbourne: includes the local governments of Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia.

The Outer Gippsland and Inner Gippsland areas are covered by the Respite in Gippsland website.

About the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre Southern Region

Respite South is managed by Alfred Health Carer Services, which acknowledges funding from the Victorian State Government and the Australian Government.

Alfred Health Carer Services provides 24 hour carer support, information and access to planned and urgent respite for carers living in the southern region of Melbourne. This service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week on 1800 052 222.
